Computational Methods for Pollutant Transport

Computational Methods for Pollutant Transport

Spring Semester

The fundamental physics of the atmosphere and the turbulent dispersion particulate contaminants within it are presented. The course focuses on the numerical simulation of the phenomena and introduces the state of the art in relevant numerical methods. Students implement the AERMOD (U.S. EPA) simulation package for a case study of pollutant dispersion over actual topography and meteorology.
